| PRIVATE OFFICER AWARDS AND RECOGNITION PROGRAMS |
Everyone likes to be recognized for a job well done regardless of where you work or what kind of a job that you have. Security officers are no different and probably need it even more especially when you consider the nature of their duties and the risks that are taken routinely by so many in this increasingly dangerous line of work. After apprehending a shoplifter who had stabbed a loss prevention agent in the hand with a screwdriver, and put up an aggressive fight in his attempt to get away, the L.P. Agent later joked to the store manager about what kind of reward the store was going to give him for enduring the assault and recovering more than a thousand dollars in stolen merchandise. The manager quipped " you get to keep your job another day". Obviously it was not the kind of response the agent was looking for or should have received. But too often the work done by private officers are taken for granted and goes unrecognized and often unappreciated. Many employers and the general public still don't fully grasp the dangers and the heroic acts that security personnel are involved in on a growing frequency. The National Association of Private Officer knows all to well, first hand about the job being done in the field everyday by you, the Private Officer and We Want To Recognize You! The National Association of Private Officers recognizes private security officers nationwide for acts of valor, efforts in lifesaving, meritorious service and other situations that go above and beyond the call of duty. These awards will be granted to both members and non-members of the N.A.P.O. and will be issued on a monthly basis by the selection committee. Once a person is selected, they will be notified and the award will be sent to their direct supervisor for presentation or mailed directly to themselves. N.A.P.O. will also issue a "Press Release" to the local media in the officer's city and post it on their website as well. The association has also decided to retro-active the awards to January 1st, 2007 and the selection committee is currently reviewing nominees from those previous months. If anyone is involved in an incident where they have gone above the call of duty, they are encouraged to APPLY NOW ! WE WANT TO ISSUE YOU THE MEDAL THAT YOU DESERVE!!
