The man left and returned shortly with a handgun and shot and killed Private Officer Melton. JUAN JOSE MARTINEZ, 24 BRONX NEW YORK JANUARY 9 2009 While on duty at a club party, a group barged the party and began shooting when they were asked to leave. Private Officer Martinez was struck several times. ROSEMARY MONTIEL , 19 DELANO CA. JANUARY 17 2009 While on duty at a SEARS warehouse, Officer Montiel had a wreck in a golf cart and was trapped underneath a trailer and succumbed to her injuries. FEBRUARY BRIAN MCCRAY 35 BRONX NY FEBRUARY 9 2009 While on duty at an apartment complex, officer McCray was shot and killed by unknown suspects. RICARDO ALEJANDRO VELARDE, 23, Long Beach CA MAY 21 2009 Was found shot to death in his vehicle at a nightclub in Rialto CA. where he had just got off shift as a security officer. DELMIRO Da COSTA, 59 SARASOTA FLA MAY 24 2009 Captain Da Costa was on patrol for Wackenhut when he was struck by another vehicle and killed instantly. ALFRED GONZALEZ-RAMOS DENVER CO MAY 30 2009 Was shot while working security at a nightclub. JUNE PETER LYDE JR ,25, PHILADELPHIA PA JUNE 1 2009 While working security at a nightclub he was shot during an argument with a patron. KURT HUSTED, 39, LAKEWOOD WA. JUNE 2 2009 While working as an armored car security officer he was shot dead during a robbery. He had been employed with the company for 16yrs. 4 Suspects have been arrested. STOCKTON CA JUNE 2 2009 CLAUDE EUGENE MCCORMICK Both officers were unarmed and were shot to death at Park Village apartments. JUNE 2 2009 While working security at an apartment complex he was shot and killed during a fight. Sigler was employed as a full time police officer with Mobile Police. TERRANCE GRANT 67 LOUISVILLE KY JUNE 24 2009 While attempting to detain a trespasser/burglary suspect at an auto dealer, officer suffered a heart attack and died at the hospital. Was shot execution style. Yee was a retired Miami police captain. UNIDENTIFIED SECURITY OFFICER KILLED FAYETTEVILLE NC JULY 12 2009 SECURITY OFFICER DIED FROM A BULLET WOUND HE GOT AT A NIGHTCLUB. LYLE R KASTNER 57 SAN ANTONIO TX JULY 18 2009 While protecting a customer of a bingo hall, the officer was shot and killed during the robbery. AUGUST EMILY ANDERSON, 40 MIAMI BEACH FLA AUGUST 3 2009 Officer Anderson and her partner were trying to stop a shoplifter at a mall when the suspect collided with their patrol vehicle. Anderson died on impact. SEPTEMBER SECURITY OFFICER 50 KILLED HATTIESBURG MS. SEPT 5 2009 Private security officer was killed in a traffic accident while transporting prisoners for a private transport company. IVORY WRIGHT 25 CLEVELAND OHIO SEPTEMBER 12 2009 Officer Wright was shot and killed during a confrontation while working nightclub security. CRESENCIO BORUEZ 46, 46 DALLAS TX. Brinks security officer was shot and killed while filling an ATM machine at a bank. LEROY FISHER 64 SACRAMENTO CA. Was killed while working security for a local nightclub. OCTOBER ROBBIE SMITH ATLANTA GA. OCTOBER 24 2009 Officer was killed while on duty at an apartment complex stopping a home invasion. NOVEMBER KENDRICK BROWN 61 LONG ISLAND NY NOVEMBER 9 2009 Officer suffered a heart attack after being attacked while on duty. KEVIN WHITE 43 BROOKLYN NY NOVEMBER 16 2009 Working at a nightclub, White tried breaking up a fight by firing gunshots in the club and was killed by police arriving on the scene. ALBERT RODRIGUEZ 59 FRESNO CA. NOVEMBER 24 2009 While on duty at apartment complex, he was beaten by several suspects and killed with a tree branch. DECEMBER ORCLYN "CHARLIE "CONKLIN 41 DAYTON OHIO DECEMBER 18 2009 While patrolling a parking lot of a grocery store unknown subjects shot and killed Officer Conklin. Police have no motives in this case. BOUNHOM MANYVONG 59 OAKLAND CA DECEMBER 19 2009 While on duty at an auto parts store the security officer approached a suspected shoplifter and was shot and killed.
