After being attacked at the Mexico border while assigned to patrol the border, Vite succumbed to his injuries. RONNIE CROOM JR. 31 INDIANAPOLIS IN. Was shot and killed while working a private New Years party. GLENN BURKE 47 DETROIT MI Was involved in a serious wreck while on patrol in December and passed away JANUARY 2 2008 JERMINE EUGENE 29 DAVIE FLA Was shot and killed while working a New Years Party at a nightclub. MARK HARDY, 37 HOUSTON TX. Was shot and killed while questioning a trespasser. DASAN KA'WILA RICHARDSON 30 FREDERICKSBURG VA. Was shot twice in the chest during a confrontation while assigned to an restaurant. PHILLIP WASHINGTON 50, DALLAS TEXAS Was shot and killed during a robbery attempt as he left his job. JOANN RUSSO 57 TOMS RIVER N.J. Was crossing the street to hang a flag and was struck and killed by a driver. RICKY BRYANT JR. 26 DECATUR GA. While working as an apartment security officer was shot and killed. Bryant was also a full time police officer for DeKalb County GA Police. ERIC BARKER 33 DECATUR GA. While working as a security officer at an apartment complex was shot and killed. Barker was also a full time police officer for DeKalb County Ga. Police. FEBRUARY 2008 JOHN RUIZ 39 MIAMI FLA. Loss Prevention Agent Ruiz was working for CVS Pharmacy when he attempted to apprehend a shoplifter and was shot and killed. The suspect later committed suicide. MARCH VERNON L TOWNSEND 66 AUBURN WA. March 16 2008 Officer Townsend was trapped between his vehicle and a hole in the road that had collapsed in a construction site. Officer Townsend was trapped for unknown amount of time and was found the next day. UNKNOWN SECURITY OFFICER MEMPHIS TN. A security officer tried to intervene in a domestic fight and came to the aid of the female and was shot and killed. We are still seeking his name and will update soon. APRIL ALLEN L. HAYES 70 LOCUST FORK ALA. Officer Hayes was employed by DSI Security and was struck by a truck at the loading dock of a Tyson Chicken plant located in Blountsville Alabama. HERNAN CARDONA 60 LOS ANGELES CA. APRIL 18 2008 While on patrol he engaged in a gun battle with several suspects and was shot in the back .Police think three gang members may have targeted him. MAY DORMAN "RAY" COOPER 26, TRUMANN ARK. MAY 12 2008 Officer Cooper was working at a factory when an employee entered his office and shot him twice. JAMES E MUDDIMAN SR. 63, SOUTH BEND IND. MAY 17 2008 While on duty at an area nightclub, Muddiman was assaulted by an unruly patron and died of his injuries Unknown Security Officer Madison Al. May 23 2008 Security officer was killed during a warehouse fire. his name has not been released yet. JUNE KEVIN CASTLEMAN 36, FORT WORTH TX. JUNE 2, 2008 Was involved in car accident and succumbed to his injuries. DAVID FULKROD 59, AUGUSTA GEORGIA JUNE 4 2008 While on duty at CMC Recycling he was shot in the head during a robbery. GERMANE HARRIS 33, SAN FRANCISCO CA. JUNE 6 2008 As he left his job as a security officer at a nightclub he was gunned down by a drive-by shooter. JULY ROBIN LACY 50, INDIANAPOLIS IN. JULY 20 2008 Officer Lacy was on duty and standing in front of the Cosmo Knights lounge when he was struck by at least one hit and run driver and vehicle debris when three cars crashed in front of the business. BILLY THOMAS, 50 LAUREL COUNTY KY July 29 2008 Billy Thomas, 50, a security guard for Health Directors, was working at ECO Tech of Kentucky in East Bernstadt. London Police say Thomas was making his rounds when he discovered a security gate open to the lot. Police say Thomas then apparently closed the gate, which weighs approximately 600 pounds, past it's stopping point. He turned his back when the gate fell, and it struck him in the back of the head, killing him instantly. Thomas worked for Health Directors for 12 years. AUGUST MONTE RUBY , SPRINGFIELD MO. AUGUST 6 2008 Ruby was kicked and assaulted by a prisoner that police had brought into the CoxHealth facility where he was on duty. He died several days later from the trauma injuries that he sustained. Ruby was also held a peace officer commission. ANDREW REISTER , 40, HAMPTON BAYS NY AUGUST 9 2008 Died from injuries of an assault while working at a local nightclub. He was also a full time correction officer. KEITH MADORE 31, COLUMBUS OH AUGUST 23 2008 While working as a nightclub security officer he was stabbed and died several days later. GREGORY BARREN JR 33, HYATTSVILLE MD AUGUST 28 2007 While working nightclub security a patron shot him during a pat down search for weapons. ISAIS QUINONES LOS ANGELES CA. AUG 29 2009 A Wackenhut security officer working at the Bank of America in Jefferson Park was attacked and robbed of his gun and then shot and killed in the parking lot of the bank. Police believe it was gang related. HOUSTON TEXAS AUG 24 2008 (YET TO BE IDENTIFIED) The security officer was shot and killed in the parking lot of a nightclub/bar where he was working. Suspect is at large. SEPTEMBER LEON HUTTON ,59 ORLANDO FLA. SEPTEMBER 1 2008 Officer Hutton suffered a massive heart attack after struggling with a man that had assaulted a person at a local nightclub. JAMES ANGELO, 27 PORTLAND MAINE SEPTEMBER 7 2008 While sitting outside of Mercy Hospital on his break, two men got into a verbal altercation with the officer and shot him to death. DAMIEN BOWLES, 34 NEW YORK CITY NY SEPTEMBER 12 2008 While on duty at a city pool, Bowles was confronted by two men who shot him in the back and neck. ALI AZIZ 42 ARLINGTON TX. SEPTEMBER 14 2008 The officer was killed during a robbery of a game room where he was on duty. CHARLES STILL 25 LOS ANGELES CA. SEPTEMBER 21 2208 While providing security for a rock band the plane they were flying in crashed in Columbia SC killing 4 people including Still. ARNOLD BOODSOOSINGH 48, SAN JUAN PR SEPTEMBER 19 2008 Security officer employed by Sentinel Security, was beaten to death with a piece of iron on Sunday, September 7 2008 UNIDENTIFIED SECURITY OFFICER MIMS FLORIDA SEPTEMBER 17 2008 While escorting a truckload of $200,000 of nickels the truck crashed and the security officer died on scene, ERIC LOWE 40, GARY INDIANA SEPTEMBER 23 2008 While breaking up a fight at a local nightclub, someone fired several rounds which struck officer Lowe. DENNIS MAGULSKI 59 CINCINNATI OH SEPTEMBER 22 2008 While working the overnight shift a supervisor found him dead. JEROME BRYANT 23 DETROIT MICHIGAN SEPTEMBER 24 2008 Succumbed to injuries sustained during an assault at a nightclub. ELIZABETH B. LEIZER, 37, CULPEPER VA SEPTEMBER 30 2008 Died from injuries sustained in a traffic accident while patrolling a residential community. OCTOBER NOE CAMOS GONZALEZ 25, LOS ANGELES CA. OCTOBER 1 2008 Was shot and killed during a robbery at a marijuana clinic. Two people were arrested. NOVEMBER KEISHA HICKS 32, CHICAGO IL NOVEMBER 22 2008 Was shot and killed during a robbery of a nightclub. EFREN BALLESTEROS MARIANAS GUAM NOVEMBER 21 2008 While on duty at a high burglary suspects beat the officer to death. UNIDENTIFIED SECURITY OFFICER LONG ISLAND NY NOVEMBER 28 2008 Security person was trampled to death at Wal-Mart on Black Friday. JOHNNIE BOYD JR. CLEVELAND OHIO NOVEMBER 30 2008 While on duty at an apartment complex he was shot in the head during a carjacking of his vehicle. DECEMBER CARLOS ALVARADO MIAMI FLA DECEMBER 4 2008 Was working as an armored car guard and was shot to death in a hail of bullets during a robbery. TIMOTHY MINNICK 48,BRIGHTON CO. DECEMBER 13 2008 While on duty at the Grizzly Rose bar he was shot and killed by 3 suspects. JUAN ESTEVAN SALADO 25, GREENSBORO NC DECEMBER 16 2008 While making a cash pick up at an Old Navy store, the Brink's security officer was shot and killed during a robbery. ARMORED CAR GUARD SAN DIEGO CA DECEMBER 16 2008 The security officer died of multiple trauma when their armored truck crashed. UNKNOWN SECURITY OFFICER 41 SAGINAW MI DECEMBER 20 2008 While working a special event at a local nightclub, the security officer was shot and killed during a confrontation. |
